Sylvie Esmonin Gevrey-Chambertin '22

Based in Gevrey-Chambertin in the Côte de Nuits, Domaine Sylvie Esmonin is a small, family-run estate of roughly 8 hectares, led by Sylvie since the 1990s and known for a distinctly “Gevrey” combination of depth and energy. The domaine has worked organically in practice since around 1990, prioritizing healthy soils and low yields over shortcut viticulture.

Sylvie Esmonin Gevrey-Chambertin 2022 is the estate’s village cuvée, made in a traditionally serious, low-intervention style: fermentations in open wooden vats, with a portion of whole clusters depending on the vintage, followed by élevage in barrel with modest new oak to frame the wine without overt sweetness or makeup.
